Beckmann Converting, Inc, a roll-to-roll toll laminator of textile composites specializing in ultrasonic bonding lamination, announced that it anticipates visitors to the FiltXPO and IDEA exhibitions in Miami to have onshoring projects on the very top of their minds. Global trade disruptions and volatility are expected to impact supply chain through much of 2025. The company reports an uptick in discussions with both current and prospective customers to shift to materials produced and converted in the U.S. and North America.
"The conversations focus on converting textile products that meet performance characteristics, but the driving force is improving stability of sourcing and costs," reports Ray Piascik, vice president of Marketing and Sales for Beckmann Converting. "We are seeing a heightened sense of urgency and accelerated timelines for achieving market readiness."
Ultrasonic lamination may be a critical component in designing onshoring solutions. The company is positioned to support development teams with rapid response. Initial evaluations are followed by complimentary hand trials to deliver laminated samples of textile composites. Limited scope roll trials prove out the ultrasonic lamination process and make available the volume of finished laminate needed for testing and verification. Along the way, volume pricing quotations for production runs are developed.
“The exhibition hosted by INDA in Miami is the perfect opportunity to jump start scoping of onshoring and other projects,” states Piascik. The company’s exhibit is booth space # 3113.
Beckmann Converting, Inc. is a world leader in converting continuous wide web, roll-to-roll, technical textiles into multi-layer laminates with the application of ultrasonic bonding technologies. The company’s multi-layer capabilities allow for the bonding of materials into high-performing new products and new uses that were often considered to have been previously impossible to manufacture.
